Kamal seeks cabinet reshuffle, blames ministers for corruption
1/12/2012 12:31:03 AM
Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 11: Senior National Conference leader Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal Wednesday said that cabinet expansion and reshuffle had become inevitable in the state. Talking to KNS Dr Kamal said, "My personal opinion is that it (expansion) should happen without any delay. Work suffers when a single minister has to take care of several portfolios. NC and Congress should go for expansion." "Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, should take it serious now as people in both the parties want it. He (Omar) should consult his party and colleagues before going for such an exercise," he added. The firebrand NC leader said that corruption was at its peak in the state. But it could be controlled here if there is a reshuffle. When a minister or a bureaucrat remains at one position for longer period of time, there are more chances of him indulging in corrupt practices. So reshuffle is a must," he told KNS. Asked whether there were chances of him being taken in the cabinet, he said, "It is decision of the party high command. I was recently ousted from party positions and the decisi...
