Amit Shah to visit Dhangri today, meet bereaved families; chair security review meet in Jammu

Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 12: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Rajouri on Friday to meet the families of slain in the recent terror attacks at Dhangri area of the district. Shah will also chair a security review meet and is likely announce measures to strengthen the Village Defence Committees in the district. According to the sources Shah will reach Dhangri village around noon and would meet members of all three families who lost their family members in January 1 terror attack. Stringent security arrangements have been put in place ahead of the Union Home Minister’s visit. A high alert has also been sounded on highways, Rajouri district and also in parts of Jammu. The Home Minister may hand over job letters to next of kin of slain Dhangri attack victims. BJP General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul confirmed to a local news agency that the Home Minister is visiting Rajouri on Friday. “He will fly back to Delhi after chairing a security meet in Jammu,” Koul said. Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 12: Two labourers were killed after an avalanche hit Sonamarg in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday, officials said. The avalanche hit the Sarbal area close to Nilgrath where Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) is executing work on the Zojila Tunnel.
