JAMMU, Nov 1: "Commission" is the word used by contractors while they allegedly pay bribe to engineers in lieu of the works they execute under their supervision in PWD, PHE, UEED, JKPCC and various other Government departments. But the Tuesday's incident of recovery of fake Indian currency (IC) notes from the graft amount (commission) of an executive engineer (Xen) is giving field engineers sleepless nights.
Commission is shared by almost everyone from bottom to top in engineering section, and from a peon to an accountant in non-engineering section. In some cases, gold jewellery and other expensive gifts are also given to a few at the top. Everything has been going on very smoothly, with no one having ever made any complaint of corruption against anyone.
It is believed that the contractors, who give more commission to engineers, get maximum works. Some engineers were even alleged to have formed their own construction companies.

KISHTWAR, Nov 1: Ahead of Friday prayers and plan of Hurriyat leaders to visit Kishtwar in connection with incident of facebook blasphemy that hit Kishtwar, security forces have been put on high alert to thwart any attempt from communal forces to vitiate peace and communal harmony in the area.
After two days of uneasy calm in Chatroo and District Headquarter Kishtwar, the police and the administration apprehended protest after Friday's prayers. Police have called in extra forces from adjoining districts of Chenab Valley to control law and order situation.

JAMMU, Nov 1: Planning Commission of India has expressed serious concern over dismal performance of Jammu and Kashmir Government in the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS).
In its recently released evaluation study report on the implementation of ICDS scheme, the Commission has expressed serious concerns over lower enrolment among ICDS beneficiaries apart from a higher rate of discontinuation across Jammu and Kashmir.
