Has Omar sidelined Dr Farooq ? | Father misses party conventions, son says he is ‘unwell’ | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 27: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah has apparently taken charge from his father and NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah.
An observer while talking to Early Times said, “Omar has become politically very active during the past few weeks.
He has been addressing the NC conventions in different parts of Kashmir.
It appears that he has sidelined his father and is out to send a message that his party is in no mood to forge alliance with any political party, especially People’s Democratic Party.”
He said, “Dr Farooq Abdullah on many occasions has shown that he is not averse to joining hands with the PDP but Omar has been treading a completely opposite path.”
Replying to a query of a reporter about Dr Farooq Abdullah’s absence from party conventions, Omar said, “Farooq Sahib is unwell.”

BANDIPORA, Nov 27: Bandipora Police on Monday arrested five people, including a Rohingya national, in connection with a human trafficking network in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
“Five persons were arrested in connection with human trafficking. One Rohingya namely Manzoor Alam was among those arrested,” Bandipora Police said.
A senior Police officer said that the accused were involved in trafficking Rohingya women through Bangladesh, arranging marriages with locals within the Union Territory (UT) in exchange for monetary gains.

Bhaderwah/Jammu, Nov 27: Two persons were killed and another injured when a load carrier fell into a 250-feet-deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Monday, police said.
The accident occurred at the Tantana area of Gundana tehsil around 5 am, they said.
Senior Superintendent of Police of Doda Abdul Qyoom said the load carrier was on its way to Gundana from Thathri when the driver of the vehicle, carrying two passengers and five cattle, lost control.
