Separatists joining mainstream in Kashmir

Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 11: The joining of the separatist leaders to different political parties is an indication that the top leadership of the Hurriyat Conference is seriously thinking of joining mainstream politics. On Saturday, a top Hurriyat activist Zafar Habib Dar joined the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party led by Altaf Bukhari. Dar, who was a supporter of the hardline Hurriyat Conference faction led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, joined the Apni Party in the presence of Bukhari and other senior leaders of the party here. Earlier former leader of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) Talat Majid had joined the Apni Party. Hailing from south Kashmir Pulwama district Talat Majid, a Rukn-e-Jamaat (member of Jamaat) before it was banned, joined the Apni Party headed by Syed Altaf Bukhari along with a large number of his supporters. Talat admitted that the destiny of the people of Jammu and Kashmir lies with India and it is high time to accept their reality to save the future of the younger generation. Early Times Report Samba/Jammu, Feb 11: Two brothers were arrested for allegedly injuring and robbing a man after posing as policemen in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, a senior police officer said on Sunday. The accused Bachan Lal and Lovely Kumar, residents of Smailpur, allegedly stopped the man and asked him to accompany them to a police station in the Bari Brahmana area for ‘investigation’ into a case, Samba SSP Vinay Kumar Sharma said. New Delhi, Feb 11: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested four suspects during its raid at 21 locations across Tamil Nadu in the 2022 ISIS-inspired Coimbatore car bomb blast and the ISIS radicalisation and recruitment case, the agency said on Sunday. The anti-terror agency search operation conducted on Saturday led to the seizure of a large number of electronic devices, material objects and documents.
