‘Sidelined’ PDP to convene crucial meeting on Feb 17

Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 10: Virtually “ignored” by the leaderships of Congress and the National Conference in discussing seat-sharing arrangements, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) is going to convene a crucial meeting on February 17 to devise a strategy for the coming Lok Sabha elections. Congress, the National Conference, and the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) are three important constituents of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc in Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said that the PDP leadership has taken serious note of the attitude of the NC and Congress leadership in sidelining the party while discussing seat-sharing among constituents of the INDIA bloc in J&K. Important to mention here that leaders of both the NC and Congress are staking claims on the majority of seats in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. None of the leaders of these parties have announced to take PDP into confidence while discussing seat-sharing arrangements. Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 10: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday raided 15 locations across Jammu and Kashmir as part of its crackdown on the Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), an unlawful association under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, in a terror funding case. Early Times Report Pattan, Feb 10: A man was injured after being attacked by his brother following an argument over land dispute in KP Payeen village of Pattan in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Saturday. Reports said that the man identified as Muzaffar Hussain Dar, 30, was attacked with an axe by his own brother Sameer Hussain Dar, 19, after a heated argument over land dispute. BSF shoots down China-made drone in Punjab

New Delhi, Feb 10: The Border Security Force (BSF) shot down another China-made drone near the India-Pakistan International Border in Punjab’s Gurdaspur, the force said on Saturday. The quadcopter drone entering Indian territory from Pakistan was intercepted during its movement on the border near Rossey village in Gurdaspur district and shot down by the BSF troops in the night hours on Friday. As per the BSF, the troops, with a quick reflex, fired at the drone and successfully shot it down soon after its interception. “The damaged drone lost control and fell on a farming field. BJP receives Rs 1300 cr through electoral bonds

NEW DELHI, Feb 10: The ruling BJP received nearly Rs 1,300 crore through electoral bonds in the 2022-23, which was seven times more than what the Congress got in the same period through the same route. The BJP’s total contributions stood at Rs 2120 crore in the 2022-23 fiscal, of which 61% came from electoral bonds, according to the party’s annual audited report submitted to the Election Commission. In FY 2021-22, the party’s total contributions were to the tune of Rs 1775 crore. The party’s total income in 2022-23 stood at Rs 2360.8 crore, up from Rs 1917 crore in FY 2021-22.
