Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 5: Conflicting statements of the founder of the Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party and former Minister Choudhary Lal Singh added fuel to the rumours of him rejoining the BJP. Amid rumours that the veteran leader is rejoining the BJP, Choudhary Lal Singh in an informal chat with media persons neither denied nor confirmed his rejoining the Saffron Brigade. “Things will be cleared at the appropriate time. As of now, I will say it’s all rumours”, Lal Singh replied when his attention was drawn to reports of his rejoining the BJP. Sources said that a group within the BJP has suggested the idea of bringing back Choudhary Lal Singh to the party before the Lok Sabha elections. “Some leaders within BJP have started back door talks with the Choudhary Lal Singh to explore possibilities of his rejoining the BJP”, sources said. Govt collects Rs 600 cr penalty for delay in PAN-Aadhaar linking

New Delhi, Feb 5: The Government has collected over Rs 600 crore as penalty for delay in linking PAN with Aadhaar, and about 11.48 crore Permanent Account Numbers are still not linked with biometric identity, Parliament was informed on Monday. “Number of PANs not linked with Aadhaar, excluding exempted categories, is 11.48 crore as on January 29, 2024,” Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha. New Delhi, Feb 5: Ahead of Lok Sabha polls, the Election Commission on Monday asked political parties not to use children in campaigning “in any form whatsoever”, including for distribution of posters and pamphlets or sloganeering. In an advisory sent to parties, the poll panel conveyed its “zero tolerance” towards use of children in any manner during the electoral process by parties and candidates.
