Srinagar, Mar 31: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has recorded the statements of the family members of Azad Yousuf Kumar, a Kashmiri man who was allegedly unwittingly thrust into the Russia-Ukraine conflict after being deceived.
The agency recorded their statements recently after filing an FIR against 19 people and visa consultancy firms linked to the exploitation of Indian youth.

Jammu, Mar 31: A driver was killed and three others suffered injuries when the car they were traveling in rolled down into a deep gorge at Khatangal on the Chenani-Ladha link road in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. | | CBIC issues guidelines for GST investigation | | | New Delhi, Mar 31: GST field officers will now have to seek the approval of their zonal principal chief commissioners to initiate an investigation against any big industrial houses or major MNCs and levy duty on goods/services for the first time.
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued guidelines for Central GST (CGST) officers. According to the guidelines, when a taxpayer is simultaneously being investigated by the state GST and DGGI officers on different subject matters, the principal commissioner will “consider the feasibility” of only one of the offices pursuing all the cases with respect to the taxpayer.

| | CUET-UG deadline extended again | | | NEW DELHI, Mar 31: The application deadline for Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG has been further extended till April 5, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Sunday. The first deadline was March 26, which was initially extended to March 31.
”The deadline for online submission of the application form for the CUET-UG – 2024 has been extended up to 9:50 PM on April 5, 2024 based on the request received from candidates and other stakeholders,” said Sadhana Parashar, Senior Director (Exams), NTA.
”Candidates can also use school ID or any government ID with photograph to facilitate identification,” she added.
The exam is scheduled to be conducted from May 15 to 31.

JAMMU, Mar 31: Authorities on Sunday stopped traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway after mudslides and shooting stones occurred at several places in Banihal.
A Traffic Official said the vehicular movement on the highway has been suspended temporarily while as restoration work is in progress. “Jammu-Srinagar NHW is blocked at Kishtwari Pather in Sher Bibi area due to shooting stones. The restoration work is in progress. People are advised to avoid any journey on NH-44 till the road is cleared,” the official said.
