Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 27: Within minutes after former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah termed the assurance of Home Minister Amit Shah on the Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) as a political gimmick, chairman of the Peoples’ Conference Sajad Gani Lone said that that it was the NC Congres that brought this Act to J&K. “Removal of AFSPA will be an excellent step. Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 27: Jammu and Kashmir has 592 species of birds, an improvement from earlier reports. A study published in Indian Birds-a journal of south Asian Ornithology- analysed the available data which revealed that J&K has 592 species of birds belonging to 21 orders and 88 families. The last checklist of birds was made in 2020 for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and that had put the number of birds as 555. “This time 592 species have been found only in J&K and does not include Ladakh. Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 27: With overnight cloud cover amid forecast for wet spell, night temperature recorded an increase in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. A meteorological department official said that Srinagar recorded a minimum of 9.5°C against 5.4°C on the previous night and it was above normal by 34°C for the summer capital of JK for this time of the year. Qazigund recorded a minimum of 8.0°C against 4.4°C on the previous night and it was 3.3°C above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.
