Srinagar, Mar 30: Amid speculations that National Conference vice-president would contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls from North Kashmir’s Baramulla constituency, Omar Abdullah, on Saturday left everyone guessing saying that the party high command would decide on his mandate.
“The party will decide on my Lok Sabha mandate. Rumors are common during election time. It is the party that will make the decision on whether I will contest polls and from which parliamentary constituency,” Omar told reporters.
“It is not up to me personally. The party has to decide on my mandate. I will leave it to the party.”

Jammu, Mar 30: Twelve candidates are in fray for Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha seat of Jammu and Kashmir, where polls are slated to be held in the first phase of general elections.

Jammu, Mar 30: A 32-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by his uncle in a border village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials said on Saturday.
Joginder Singh, an ex-serviceman who is currently a member of the village defence guard, had an argument with his nephew Gagandeep Singh (32) over some domestic issues at their house in Dara Dullian around midnight, the officials said.
Joginder Singh opened fire from his licensed rifle in a fit of rage, killing the victim on the spot, they said.

Srinagar, Mar 30: Several parts of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed widespread rainfall in the last 24 hours, while the upper reaches experienced snowfall, bringing down the temperatures.
The Meteorological Department’s (MeT) centre in Srinagar predicted widespread light to moderate rain or snow and thunderstorms over Jammu and Kashmir in the next 24 hours and a decrease in precipitation from March 31.
In the last 24 hours, Srinagar received 29.7 mm of rain, Pahalgam 35.4 mm, Gulmarg 26.6 mm, Qazigund 22.6 mm, Kokernag 30.2 mm, and Kupwara 20.2 mm.

SRINAGAR, Mar 30: Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday attached a two-storey residential house owned by a drug peddler in Baramulla district under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The residential house is valued at approximately Rs 30 lakh located in Dardkote Uri.
A police spokesman said the house belongs to notorious drug peddler Azad Ahmad Mir, a resident of Dardkote Uri.
