Early Times Report Jammu, May 19: Differences appeared to be have cropped up between the two main constituents of the Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) over the coming summit of G20 in Srinagar. Leaders of the National Conference and People Democratic Party (PDP)-the main constituents of PAGD have taken different lines of the decision of the Union Government to hold the G20 summit in Srinagar-the capital city of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. While PDP chief and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is opposing the holding of the G20 summit in Srinagar, National Conference president and veteran leader Dr. Farooq Abdullah is optimistic about the coming historic event in the Union Territory. Fire guts 3 mud houses in Doda

Early Times Report BHADERWAH/JAMMU, May 19: Three mud houses belonging to Gujjar families were gutted in a huge fire in the Dhadkai area of Doda district in the early hours of Friday destroying properties worth lakhs, police said. There were no casualties or injuries in the incident and the cause of the fire is unknown. Sub-divisional police officer (SDFO) Gandoh Adil Rishu said three families were rendered homeless by the incident that took place in a village in the Gandoh sub-division. The fire erupted at 1 am in one of the three houses and quickly spread to the other two houses, the SDPO said. The mud houses belonged to Jamat Ali, Lal Hussain, and Mohd Israel, he added. RBI to withdraw Rs 2,000 currency notes, canb be exchanged till Sept 30

Agencies New Delhi, May 19: The Reserve Bank of India on Friday announced withdrawal of Rs 2,000 currency notes from circulation, and existing notes in circulation can either be deposited in bank accounts or exchanged by September 30. The bank notes in Rs 2,000 denomination will continue to be a legal tender, the RBI said in a statement. In order to ensure operational convenience and to avoid disruption of regular activities of bank branches, the RBI said exchange of Rs 2,000 bank notes into bank notes of other denominations can be made up to a limit of Rs 20,000 at a time at any bank starting from May 23, 2023. The RBI has advised banks to stop issuing Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes...

Early Times Report Srinagar, May 19: Three days ahead of high profile G20 Tourism Working Group meeting, Jammu and Kashmir police issued an advisory against some suspicious international mobile numbers, who are spreading “rumours” against the upcoming event. Over the last few days, several people in Kashmir have been receiving automated calls from international numbers asking them to thwart the coming G20 meeting in Srinagar. The G20 meeting, being held from May 22-24 ,is the first major international event in Kashmir after the J&K’s special status was scrapped in August 2019 and the erstwhile state was divided into two union territories. Agencies New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said his presence at the G7 Summit in Japan is particularly meaningful as India currently holds the G20 presidency.
