Shabir reviews healthcare arrangements for Amarnathji Yatra

Early Times Report JAMMU, June 10 : Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmed Khan, today reviewed healthcare arrangements for ensuing Amarnathji Yatra with the officers of Health department and directed the concerned to ensure all the arrangements are made well in time to facilitate the pilgrims The Minister took a comprehensive review of the status of drugs and supplies, deployment of staff and the contingency plan for providing medical facilities to the yatries. He was apprised that the medical units will be made functional at the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar, Ram Mandir Purani Mandi, Vaishno Dham and other important venues besides a well equipped mobile team will also be accompanying the Yatra upto Banihal. He also reviewed the steps taken by the department for issuance of health certificates to the yatries. The Minister also had a detailed review of the performance of various units like ultrasound, X-ray, surgeries and other diagnostic facilities in OPD and IPD. Srinagar, June 10 : Jammu and Kashmir police today foiled a protest march by government employees here in support of their demands including enhancement of their retirement age from 58 to 60 years and regularisation of daily-wage and casual workers. Hundreds of government employees under the aegis of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), assembled at Exhibition Crossing here and tried to march towards the Civil Secretariat, but were stopped by police who asked them to disperse peacefully, official sources said.
