It might not be easy to answer if asked ‘what is common among a politician, a doctor a saint and an artist?’ However, if the question refers to the five particular persons being mentioned in the following lines who pursue the above professions respectively – the answer you get perhaps shock you.
Yes, it will be shocking, and not only that, but shameful also in context of our conservative society. Unfolding the drama at this juncture – the commonality among the five is ‘Homosexuality’.
Having sensed some suspicion through their ‘weird’ manners, this Early Times scribe began investigating their behaviour. Following the investigation, it was learnt that a senior doctor, a police officer, a politician, a saint and an artist – all belonging to Jammu have uncommon trait of getting sexually attracted towards the persons of their gender.
The investigation also revealed that all these males have been (mis)using their status and using young boys to satiate their lust by either pressurizing them or offering cash and expensive gifts.

| Resurgent militants attack army convoy, kill 2 in Poonch | | | |

Poonch, July 17—Substantiating the reports coming from
different quarter that militants were trying to
regroup in District Poonch, a group of militants today
attacked an army convoy near totewali gali while it
was on its way to Poonch killing 2 army jawans and
injuring eight others sitting in a bus in the rear of
the convoy.
Following the attack a fierce encounter ensued between
the militants and the security men in which six sepoys
including two Naiks were injured.
According to reports, the convoy had started at 1:30
in the afternoon from Biji and around 3 pm it was
attacked somewhere between totewali gali and Bhatta
Durian, on Surankote Rajauri road.

JAMMU| July 17
In the first militant attack on Amarnath Yatra this year, at least 16 persons were on Tuesday night wounded, three of them critically, when grenades were hurled at a base camp at Baltal, about 100 km from Srinagar.
The attack, which took place just outside the camp at around 9.30 pm, left 13 shopkeepers in the area, two pilgrims and the driver of a bus ferrying the pilgrims injured, official sources said.
The condition of three of the injured was stated to be critical.

Jammu, July 17: Two soldiers lost their lives is a brutal militant ambush in the border district of Poonch while four militants have been killed in anti-insurgency operations in Kashmir Valley, reports reaching here said.
Two soldiers were killed and at least eight injured when militants attacked a convoy of the Indian Army in Poonch district Tuesday.
At around 4.30 p.m., militants opened fire on an army convoy in Surankote area of Poonch, a defence spokesman said.
He said reinforcements had been rushed to the area to track the attackers. Of the eight injured, one soldier is said to be critical.
