The `mission Kashmir' ended on Nehru's pyre. His successor, Lal Bahadur Shastri ignored Sheikh Abdullah much to his disappointment.
A noted Kashmiri journalist who was exiled by Sher-e-Kashmir's regime has written on his (Sher-e-Kashmir's) activities in Pakistan. According to him, "Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah discussed a possibility of guerrilla war in Kashmir, and...

JAMMU, Aug 10: Some "senior" police officers were alleged to have attained notoriety in J&K police administration for their "sexual" acts.
Though this was the topic of private discussion among senior officers and other ranks at police headquarters (PHQ), no one ever dared to speak a word against their seniors in public, fearing "disciplinary" action.
Reliable sources at PHQ told ET that a "senior" police officer and his subordinate were the two who were mostly being discussed for misusing their official position in this context.
This is, however, not the first time that such serious allegations have been levelled against senior police officers.
Some state police officers...

| | Hi-tech media cell unlikely to help BJP in Jammu | No Political Agenda | | Neha
jammu, Aug 10: The State unit of the BJP yesterday announced with much fanfare that its media cell went hi-tech. The party president said that this step was taken into account the fact that today's is an era of information technology and it is a must for the party to ensure its presence everywhere. He was right.
But it is extremely doubtful if its website, which will be available "soon", will help the State unit of the party in any way. The BJP does need hi-tech media cell, but it also needs many other things. It does need effective organizational machinery. It is true that it has its branches established across the State in general and Jammu Pradesh in particular. But most of them a...
