| CBI raid in AIR office; Administrative Officer among 2 booked | | | SUMIT SHARMA
JAMMU, Jan 21: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two employees of All India Radio for taking graft from pensioners in a late hour's raid that was conducted in the premises of All India Radio station here in Panjtirthi today. The accused have been identified as Hazara Khan, Administrative Officer and clerk Jagdish Raina. Official sources said that in the raid CBI recovered Rs 3000 graft money from the possession of both the employees. Sources further said that CBI sleuths also seized the record of AIR station for further scrutiny. ACB CBI Jammu Dr. Arman Deep Singh when contacted confirmed the reports and said that investigation is in progress. Sources said that CBI was receiving complaint from pensioners of Radio Station in which they alleged that both Hazara Khan and Jagdish Raina demanded graft from them in lieu of releasing their pension money. Based on the complaint, CBI sleuths laid a trap and handed over tainted money from one of the complainant namely Harjeet Singh to offer the same to them. Official sources said that as per plan both the accused accepted tainted money thus land in CBI net. From the possession of both the accused Rs 1500 each was recovered, sources said. |
