Jammu, Jan 21: Omar Abdullah's statement of reverse Darbar move is a well planned move from the National Conference (NC) working president to take everything from Jammu to Srinagar.
Though he defends his statement by assuring his availability as and when people need him, the political motive behind this is well thought-out to give more time to Valley people and stay away from Jammu for most of the time.
Since Omar became Chief Minister, he is considering shifting the budget session of the legislature to Srinagar as it has to be held in the months of February and March when the Darbar is in Jammu. When Darbar is in Srinagar, Valley gets one week to 10 days of session, which is pricking Omar Abdullah.
He knows it very well that permanently shifting Darbar to Srinagar will enrage Jammuites and Jammu based parties. He may also lose his vote bank in Jammu. Thus he along his close associates thought out a plan of reversing the Darbar Move which will address his concern without getting opposition from parties.
Omar is also well aware of the fact that in summers tourist rush increases in Valley and most of VVIPs visit are aimed towards Valley. Similarly Ministers remain there to attend almost every day event. This means even if Darbar remains in Jammu during summers, Government will be in Srinagar and Jammu will get nothing out of the Secretariat.
Omar has shown his pro-Kashmir ideology and hate towards Jammu without getting even noticed. The statement of reverse Darbar is dangerous for the secular fabric of the State and for Jammu.
It is the well known fact that when Darbar is in Srinagar, Omar hardly visits Jammu to see people suffering due to absence of any kind of governance but when Darbar is in Jammu, he continuously visits Srinagar and mostly on week days he moves out of Jammu. How could one trust him that in summers if Darbar will be shifted to Jammu, he will devote his whole time to people of Jammu.
It is the time for Jammu based parties and people to stand up against this move of Omar Abdullah and didn't allow him to do this kind of act which will hurt Jammu region as a whole. |
