Jammu, Jan 21: It is incredible! A day before Cabinet re-shuffle, the then Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-Ud-Din directed for effecting transfers and postings of couple of Junior Engineers and in-charge Assistant Engineers.
The transfers and postings included some pre-mature as well, it is learnt. Besides, at least seven more orders of pre-mature transfers were effected in December, last year for the reasons best known to officials at helm of affairs in PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control department.
"Having confirmed information about his new assignment as Minister for Medical Education, Taj Mohi-Ud-Din gave his consent to effect transfers and postings of couple of JEs and in-charge AEs, following which Under Secretary to PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control department on January 14 (Just a day before re-shuffle and change of portfolios) ordered transfers and postings of atleast eight officials," highly placed sources in Civil Secretariat confirmed to Early Times.
As per the said order, Indu Bhushan Sharma In-charge AE (Civil) who was attached was posted at Irrigation Sub Division Kishtwar, Anil Nargotra, JE (Civil) under order of transfer to Irrigation Division-I, Jammu was posted at PHE City Division-II vice Navneesh. Navneesh, JE (Civil) was further posted at Irrigation Division-I, Jammu. Ajay Khajuria, JE (Mechanical) awaiting orders of adjustment was posted at Ground Water Division, Jammu against the vacancy caused due to repatriation of Garu Ram Sharma.
Similarly, Pawan Kumar, JE (Civil) posted at RTIC Kathua was transferred to PHE Sub Division, Bani, Ashok Singh, JE (Civil) under order of transfer to RTIC, Jammu was posted at PHE Division, Samba against the available vacancy. Vijay Kumar Sharma, JE (Civil), Flood Control Division, Samba was transferred and posted at PHE Rural Division Kandi-I, Jammu and Anil Gupta, JE (Civil) posted at Flood Control Division, Kathua was transferred to PHE, Rural Division, Jammu.
"On one side coalition parties both NC and Congress are always claiming of providing good governance and transparency while in reality they are busy in presenting choice and lucrative postings to their blue-eyed persons. They are not bothered about negative public opinion against them even when an year is left for next Assembly election i.e. in 2014," sources pointed out.
Eyebrows are being raised over the pre-mature transfers and postings of over a dozen Junior Engineers and in-charge AEs believed to be blue-eyed men of Minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din, who is already surrounded by number of controversies. |
