| Valleyites rue over charging as CAPD helpline goes 'temporarily out of service' | | | early times report Srinagar, Jan 21: At a time when harsh winter and repeated disruption of traffic at the Jammu -Srinagar national highway have affected supply of essentials in the Valley and hoarders and blackmarketeers are making best out of peoples' woes, the helpline of the CAPD has been rendered unserviceable for months and the administration has slept over the matter. Alleging indifference on part of the government and the administration, locals have said that once darbar moves to Jammu, the ministers and even bureaucrats shift to winter capital, leaving poor residents of the valley to fend for themselves. "The Government seems to have forgotten valley after the durbar move as most of the Ministers and other Govt officers of divisional administration have left for Jammu and the people of the valley and are suffering lots of difficulties with regard to non availability of the essential supplies" said a local. People allege that the essential commodities like LPG, Koil , Aataa are missing from the markets and the shopkeepers especially the vegetable vendors , chicken shop owners are selling the essential items on exorbitant rates. " It seems as if there is no government. Even the toll free number 1800-180-7011 started last year by CAPD in view complaints regarding essential supplies has been out of order" said a local PDP leader at Chadoora, seeking action against hoarders and blackmarketeers. |
