| NC Panches, Sarpanches irked | | Issue ultimatum to give representation or face mass resignation | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Jan 21: Issuing ultimatum to National Conference high command, NC leaders of Poonch Assembly constitu-ency including Sarpanches and Panches belonging to the party said that if high command does not consider their demand of inclusion of their representative in ministry, they will tender their resignations.
These NC leaders, Panches and Sarpanches held protest demonstration in Dak Banglow Mandi and demanded immediate response from the government. The protest was led by Block President of Panches Sarpanches Association Peer Nisar Hussain Shah which was supported by various Block Presidents of NC including Mandi block President Abdul Ahad Batt and Panches Sarpanches Sha-mim Bukhari, Khalil Ah-med, Haji Mohammad Zaman, Abdul Khaliq, Dr Ghulam Abass, Moha-mmad Shafi and Jamal Din. All the Panches Sarpanches and NC leaders unanimously decided to tender their resignation as a mark of protest against ignoring of Poonch in the Cabinet expansion.
The protestors said that Dr Farooq Abdullah had assured them that their representative will be given a chance in the ministry and the high command have forgotten the promise which has hurt them They said that Poonch has been ignored and people are angry because of this.
Panches Sarpanches said that Poonch people will no more tolerate the dictate of high command and they will protest for their right of representation in the state council of minsters. Following the protest, a resolution was passed by all Sarpanches and Panches in which it the inclusion of Poonch representative in the cabinet was strongly demanded. |
