| Impart quality education to students: Bhalla to teachers | | | early time report JAMMU, Jan 21: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today asked the teacher fraternity to impart quality education to the students to prepare them to face future challenges. The Minister was addressing the Annual Day Function of Global Convent School of Malik Market in Channi Rama, here this afternoon at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium in Jammu University. The annual day function was started by lighting of the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest. Bhalla said annual days not only provide students a platform to exhibit their hidden talent, but also introduce them with the culture and heritage of the State. He urged upon the students to take part in co-curricular activities side by side academics for their overall personality development. The Chairman of the School, K K Pandoh, Prin-cipal Jagdamba Gandotra besides students and parents in large numbers were also present on the occasion. The Minister called upon the teaching fraternity to give their best to the students who are the future builders of the nation. He impressed upon the students to strive hard to achieve their desired goals and bring laurels to the State both in sports and academic. He stressed the need to introduce moral education in the schools and highlighted the role of a teacher in crafting the personality of student. On the occasion, the students of different classes presented colourful cultural items like Sarswati Vandana, Dogri, Kashmiri and Punjabi, dance and music, besides various skits, which were highly applauded by the audience. Later, the Minister distributed mementos among the students who brought have excelled in 2011-12 examinations. |
