| Omar's suggestion of reverting Durbar Move not practical: Prof Gupta | | | early times report Jammu, Jan 21: President Jammu State Morcha Prof Virender Gupta today said that suggestion of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of reverting the timing of Durbar Move was not a plausible solution to address problems of the people. "Keeping Secretariat in Jammu during summer and in Kashmir during winter as suggested shall adversely affect working in move offices, which otherwise is worse as compared to other states. The only viable solution lies in the bifurcation of the secretariat and other move offices, including the High Court and PSC and making the rotational movement of ministers and commissioners," Gupta said in a statement "Along with this more administrative powers be given to Leh and Kargil Hill Development Councils to decrease their dependence on the Secretariat and centrally administered offices. This shall allow the Government to attend effectively and efficiently the problems of the people of all the three regions throughout the year," he added. Prof Gupta suggested that the best way to attend the problems and grievances of the people and to fulfil their economic, social and political aspirations lies in the trifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir State by making three independent political units where each unit is given all the political, legislative, administrative and financial powers. "Trifurcation of the State shall end all the conflicts and misgivings existing between the different regions and allow each region to progress as per the wishes of the respective people without any complaint against each other," he suggested. |
