| PDP holds protest, launches scathing attack on MoS Home | | |  Asif Iqbal Naik
KISHTWAR, Jan 21: Like in other parts of the state, Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) also held a protest at Kishtwar under the leadership of Party State Secretary and MLC Syed Asgar Ali highlighting the various issues pertaining to the problems faced by the people in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly by the people of mountainous Kishtwar District.
The protest which started from Dak Bungalow Kishtwar passed through Shaheedi Road Kishtwar.
The protestors sat on dharna outside DC office Kishtwar and blocked the main road for more than two hours.
The agitating PDP leaders blamed the police for not allowing them the space outside DC office Kishtwar for peaceful demonstration under democratic system which forced them to sit on road as a result of which the vehicular movement on ever busy road got hampered for several hours causing inconvenience to the general public.
While addressing the gathering, MLC Syed Asagar Ali launched scathing attack on newly inducted MoS Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo for directing police to disrupt the peaceful and democratic protest of PDP highlighting various public related problems.
He said that MLA Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo should come clean on the promises made by him and his party with the general public of Kishtwar on developmental agenda. He said that Tourism department fails to tap the vast tourism potential of Kishtwar District and blamed the KDA for working under the political patronage.
He said that historic Chowghan ground of Kishtwar is a glaring example of KDA high handedness and corruption. He blamed the National Conference for its failure in construction of Kishtwar-Dachhan road and accused the local NC leadership for slow progress on construction front of this prestigious road. He said that newly inducted minister from Kishtwar must come clean on his agenda pertaining to various developmental works of Kishtwar District. He said that PDP will fight for the cause of employment of local youths in upcoming power projects. He warned that PDP will not allow any company to execute construction work on 6 identified power projects including 890 MW Rattle and 1000 MW Pakal-Dool power projects in case the local youths were ignored in jobs. |
