1/27/2013 11:37:13 PM
Early times report
Jammu, Jan 27: Valley based separatists have poohphooed Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah's advice to them to talk to Delhi.Several separatist leaders, including Prof.Abdul Gani Bhat, have said that "we have been always ready for dialogue with New Delhi but till date we have not received any formal invitation."
Prof. Bhat said that the All Party Hurriyat Conference has reiterated its resolve to secure settlement of the Kashmir issue through the process of dialogue and "we even suggested to Delhi to reopen the channels of dialogue, which stand choked since 2006,but there has been no response."
Other Hurriyat leaders said that there was no fun in listening to Omar Abdullah's suggestion when Delhi has not given any thought to his views as far as reopening of the process of dialogue with "us" is concerned.
Bhat said that after "our return from Pakistan we had suggested to New Delhi to open the process of dialogue with us so that we could exchange views on what transpired between the Hurriyat leaders and political stalwarts in Pakistan but again Delhi did not respond."
He said that as far as the APHC is concerned it supports triangular talks on Kashmir adding that Kashmir was no longer a bilateral issue and hence "we should be included in Indo-Pak t alks so that a solution could be evolved to the satisfaction of India,Pakistan and people of Jammu and Kashmir."
Bhat said that instead of airing his voice on the television Omar Abdullah should take up the issue with New Delhi so that the Government of India agreed to send a formal invitation to the Hurriyat leaders.
Omar Abdullah has said that the only way forward to resolve issues for the separatists was to open channels of communication with the Centre and discuss political issues threadbare to seek amicable solution.
"When they can talk to the leadership of neighboring country (Pakistan) they should also talk to the political leadership of their own country and work for settlement of the basic political issues confronting Jammu and Kashmir for the larger interests of the people of the State," Omar said.
Referring to this statement Bhat said that "we had received formal invitation from Islamabad and that is why we went there but till date we have not received any formal invitation from New Delhi."He added "the momeent we ar e formally invited we will waste no time in visiting Delhi for resuming talks."
