| Police catches thug; recovers fake stamps, appointment orders | | | early times report
JAMMU, Jan 27: Jammu police has busted a fake appointment racket after police caught hold of a Rajouri based youth inside the police colony situated adjacent to District Police Line (DPL) at Gulshan Ground Jammu. From the possession of the accused, police allegedly recovered fake stamps of Director General of Police, Home department, passport officer besides some fake appointment letters. Identified as Sheraz Ahmed son of Mohd Arshad of village Sandote, Mendhar, the accused is already wanted by Rajouri police for duping several peoples of lakh of rupees in lieu of providing government jobs. SP Rajouri Mubisser Latifi when contacted said that the accused was booked under section 420,467,468,471 RPC .He was booked on the complaint of one Zakir Hussain son of Mohd Azam of village Dhar Sakri in which he alleged that he was given fake appointment order of follower in police department by Sheraz after he charged Rs one Lakh from him. SP further said that since then he was wanted. As per police a source, the accused was arrested inside police quarters at Gulshan Ground on his suspicious movement by police men on the 26 January's night. "His car was halted by police policemen when he was heading towards quarter of one of his relatives in Gulshan Ground. Though the relative (a cop) of accused gave call to the security men urging them to leave him, but cop searched his vehicle and recovered fake stamps and fake appointment orders", a senior police officer said. The matter was later reported to Gandhi Nagar police and the accused was arrested accordingly. SSP Jammu Prabhat Singh when contacted confirmed the reports of the arrest and further said that Rajouri police had been informed and a police team is approaching here to take his custody. |
