| | | Et Plus Report Jammu, Mar 20: To eliminate fake Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) and digitization of PRCs format, a high level team has been constituted. "A high level committee has been constituted by Revenue department under the chairmanship of Financial Commissioner, Revenue to see how the PRCs format would be digitized to eliminate faking and maintaining true record of each issued PRC", informed Minister of State for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Ajaz Ahmed Khan in a reply to a question of NC member Javed Ahmad Rana in Legislative Council today. Minister further stated that non-state subjects are not allowed to make temporary or permanent structures in the state as per the existing laws of the State. He said there are no reports regarding permanent settlements of non-state subjects in the State; however, some are reported to be temporary residing in the state only for business purposes. Earlier number of members demanded debate on the issue. NC member Davinder Singh Rana said, "The people identified by backward commission as outsiders should not be allowed to build immovable property here and they should be evicted from the state". NC member Javed Ahmad Rana during his supplementary said, "It is a serious matter that state subjects are issued to people from Bihar, UP, Delhi and other states. The house should debate this issue. Some people are trying to change the demographic setup of the state". Minister also informed that there is no need to enact any separate legislation to ensure eviction of non-state subject from the state. |
