Soz to continue as PCC chief till 2014 elections
3/20/2013 10:42:33 PM
Jammu, Mar 20: There will be no change of guard in Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) as Saifuddin Soz will continue to head the state unit of the party till 2014 Assembly elections.
The decision has been taken by the central high command of the party and has been conveyed to Soz and top Congress leaders of the state. He has been told to further strengthen the party in the state and get better results during parliamentary and Assembly elections schedule for 2014.
Sources in the Congress party told Early Time Plus that the central leadership of the party has reposed faith in the leadership of Saifuddin Soz and has told him to continue to strengthen the party. "It is in the interest of the party that Soz continues as PCC chief and helps the party in achieving goals in parliamentary and Assembly elections," sources added.
Rumours were on that Soz may be replaced as PCC chief ahead of elections but the party high command has ruled out any change of guard ahead of parliamentary and Assembly elections. "Party high command is happy with the work of Soz as he has been able to minimize the differences within the party in the state and managed to get all leaders under one umbrella. Still if some sort of differences persist, he has been asked to take these people on board as party can't afford to have any internal issue ahead of polls scheduled for next year," sources added.
All ministers and senior party leaders have also been directed to provide full support to Soz and put party ahead of personal interests. Meanwhile, the party leadership has also been directed to prepare for municipal and block development council elections and ensure that party doesn't lose any ground.
