| Alert sounded in Jammu, Katra after reports of infiltration bid | | | ET Plus Report Jammu, Mar 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Police is learnt to have sounded an alert in Jammu as well as Reasi districts, today, following reports of infiltration by a group of Pakistani trained terrorists, towards this side of borders. While none of the senior police officers of both district police circles were available for their respective comments, highly placed sources disclosed to Early Times Plus that "there were inputs from several security agencies pertaining to the possible infiltration bid by Lashker terrorists here in border area of Jammu from Pakistan. The input received from security agencies was thread-barely studied, during which the areas including Chicken Neck in Kanachack, Pallanwala and Jogwan were identified at LoC, from where the possibility of infiltration bid was explored". "After brain storming sessions with senior colleagues, the Police immediately sounded an alert and raised several checking points to detect the movement of suspected terrorists, who may have possibly infiltrated," revealed highly placed sources further adding that "the suspicion of possible infiltration came to light following seizure of foreign items including a Battery Torch and some eatables near LoC by security agencies." Meanwhile, an alter has also been sounded in Reasi district especially in Katra Town, the base camp of pilgrimage to the most revered shrines of Hindus-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, where every year lakhs of devotees from all over the India reaches and pay their obeisance at the holy shrine. Sources further shared that following collection of certain inputs pertaining to infiltration, special naka points have been raised by Reasi Police to ensure, there is no untoward incident in its area. |
