Court remands self styled 'God man' to 7 days police custody

Kishtwar, Mar 20: In a significant development in an alleged rape case of a minor girl hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Munsif Judge Kishtwar sent the accused a self styled 'God man' to police custody of seven (07) days for further investigation. Meanwhile in an unexpected development in the case the wife of accused deposed him in full view of Munsiff court.
While divulging the details, Dy SP HQ Kishtwar Farooq Qaser said that the wife of the accuse (name withheld) in her statement recorded before the Munsif Judge Kishtwar confirmed the version of two minor victims and recorded her statement in thye court of Munsif.
He said that during investigation it was found that the accused committed rape on one of the minor girl, while charges U/S 354 (sexual assault) was established against the accused in case of another victim who also was minor. Senior police officer also said that accused abducted the two UP minor girls from Kishtwar Bus stand and later committing rape on one among the two minor aging 12-13 years.
"Police after receiving complaint from the family members of the two minor girls registered missing report at Police Station Kishtwar and recovered both the abducted girls from Pul Doda who were roaming their under mysterious circumstance. However on the basis of the statement of the two girls, Police registered case FIR No 30 u/s 363/342 at Police Station Kishtwar and later arrested the accused from Bhaderwah, he added. Police also said that after the arrest of alleged accused, the two girls identified him during the identification parade. Meanwhile on the basis of the statement of two victims recorded by the police, Kishtwar Police further added 376 RPC (Rape) as additional charges. The self styled God man has projected himself as a 'spiritual man' who has holistic powers to treat various human ailments.
During the couse of investigation the police today produced the accused in the Court of Munsif Judge Kishtwar Omesh Sharma who sent the accused to 7 days police custody for further investigation.
Police earlier in the day also got the medical examination of the accused at District Hospital Kishtwar, where doctors found him medically fit for questioning.
