| UPA has enough number to stay in power: Azad | | | ET Plus Report
Udhampur, Mar 20: Asserting that Congress led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is not facing any threat of falling in minority, the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad today categorically said that UPA has the enough number to stay in power. Union Minister Azad was on his brief visit to ongoing Mega Multispecialty Health Camp organized by Rotary Foundation in collaboration with Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, J&K Health Department Government with the active support of District Administration. While taking to the media personals at District Hospital Udhampur, Union Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad said that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government is not in crisis even after its ally Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) walked out of the ruling coalition. Azad said that UPA has the proper Members to stay in power and further added that different political parties continue their support from outside. He however outrightly denied that the UPA government would be reduced to a minority after losing the support of its ally. "We are not a minority government.. and the arithmetic points to us not being in a minority because of support of other parties," he said. To a question about the speculation of midterm polls, Union Health Minister confidently said the parliamentary election will be held at time. |
