Jammu: Former Minister and NCP President J&K Thakur Randhir Singh returned from New Delhi after meeting National President NCP and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar who has agreed to visit Jammu and Kathua in near future. According to a statement Singh discussed with Pawar the political and other burning issues of the farmers of the state particularly the issue of GHATI Industrial Estate Kathua being set up by SIDCO after acquiring 9000 Kanals of land from farmers at meagre rates which is most fertile. "The industrial project has been opposed by farmers, social activists, environmentalists," he said and invited Pawar to visit Ghati to see himself the massive damage which will be caused to this wealth by this polluted Industrial Estate. Singh also discussed the problem of Chinore agriculture farmers whose most valuable land have been acquired by the state government. Singh alleged that the Agriculture department had committed fraud with the farmers of 11 villages of Chinore farm which have been deprived of their land holdings by paying a meagre rent of their land by showing this huge chunk of highly fertile and irrigated land. Thakur said the people of Jammu and Kashmir are indebted to Pawar who as Chief Minister Maharashtra reserved technical seats in the private technical colleges of Maharshtra to the children of Kashmiri Migrants, Children of Defence personnel and paramilitary forces serving in the state, children of IAS , IPS , IFS serving in J&K and also children of J&K police. |
