Kupwara, July 29: Army to claimed that it killed a militant and injured two others when they were trying to infiltrate into Kashmir Valley from Keran Sector of Frontier district Kupwara.General Officer Commanding 28 Division, Lalit Pandey told CNS that Army personnel observed the movement of at least three militants who were crossing Line of Control along with sophisticated weapons."The militants fired upon the Army indiscriminately when challenged by our Jawans and in retaliation Army killed one militant on spot while two militants were injured. The injured militants managed to flee from the spot while the hunt has been launched to nab them.
They are possibly hiding in thick forest area of Keran sector," he said.
The Army Officer said that two AK-47 rifles have been recovered from the deceased militant. "the identity of the slain militant has not been ascertained yet," he said adding that search operation is going on to hunt the injured militants. |
