Police arrest couple involved in theft at Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra

Jammu, July 29: Police has claimed to solved the theft case of RS 70,000 and a mobile phone which were stolen from logy abode of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra with the arrest of a couple involved in the case.
Police have recovered the cash and mobile phone from their possession of the accused. "Accused have been identified namely as Ramesh Keshav S/O Kallu Keshav R/O Alam Sara Tehsil Sambal District Muradabad (UP) and Reema Keshav W/O Ramesh Keshav, police said.
According to police the couple involved in case were wanted in the theft case registered against FIR No. 03/2013 U/S 380 RPC, at Police Station Bhawan. "The accused duo has also stolen cash rupees 70000/- and one Mobile phone which were recovered from their possession, police said. Pertinently the FIR was lodged by one yatri namely Nirmla Devi W/O Sonu Sindi R/O Mehandipur Ballaji Tehsil Bandi District Jaipur who had come to Bhawan for darshans of holy cave.
The accused accompanied the yatri Nirmla Devi from Ludhiana Railway Station. "The accused alongwith the complainant reached holy cave on 27.07.2013 and stayed for night. on 28/07/13 the accused persons as well as the complainant kept their belonging/luggage in one locker and went for darshans, police said, adding, "accused persons after performing darhsans came back to clock room No.2 and fled after removing cash rupees 70000/- and mobile from the complainant bag." Quoting the complainant police said, "The complainant alongwith her husband returned back to get their luggage they found their bags lying on the floor who on inspection of their luggage found their small bag carrying cash and mobile was missing."
On this all Police Check Posts on the track were activated nakas were laid and during naka/checking the accused persons were apprehended near Inderprastha Bhojanalya at Adhkuwari by Police and formally arrested in case FIR No. 03/2013 U/S 380/ RPC the accused persons were remanded for two days Police custody.
