Jammu, Jul 28: The National Secular Forum (NSF) has urged the three-member inquiry committee, probing the irregularities in TBS, to expeditiously submit its report for action without delay. Addressing a press conference, NSF President Sukhdev Singh urged the committee to expeditiously complete the probe and submit its report to the Vice-Chancellor. He alleged that it has been revealed through a RTI that Director TBS has provided its seminar/convention hall to the outsiders without any written permission from the VC and without any charges. Sukhdev alleged that irregularities and violation of University guide lines has been done by the Director TBS in the last ten months. "It was revealed in a RTI filed by a NSF leader seeking information regarding the use and expenses of the Seminar/ Conventional Hall," he said. It is Pertinent to mention here that VC Jammu University has directed all the departments that no room or seminar hall shall be provided to the outside agencies without his written permission. NSF Vice-President stated that details of the irregularities has came in the light in a reply of one RTI that on 23-12-2012 the conference hall of TBS was made available for one outside agency for a book release function without a proper and written permission. "Again on 23-03-2013 a disaster in terms of violation of University guidelines was done by the Director TBS when a private publisher and author of a book was permitted to use the hall for the promotion and publicity of his personal book which costs more than Rs 400," he said. Sukhdev criticized the director and alleged that he was not able to provide the right information to the PIO Jammu University about the external examiners invited for the PHD final via and PIO has replied to a RTI filed by a NSF activist with a less information and not accurately organized information. The NSF strongly condemned the role played by the Director TBS in committing these 'irregularities and corruption' Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Akshey Sharma, Barket Tahir, Balveer Kumar and Javed. |
