UDHAMPUR : In its endeavor to increase green cover in Udhampur and its peripheral areas, the 137 Bn of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a massive plantation drive.
Commandant, 137 Bn CRPF, Mr. Mukesh Kumar formally launched the drive by planting a sapling of fruit plant in the premises of CRPF Complex at Roun Domail and SRTC camp Udhampur.
Giving the detail of plantation drive, Commandant, Mr. Mukesh Kumar informed that as many as five hundred plants of different species including medicinal, ornamental, shady trees and fruit plants would be planted in CRPF Complex Roun Domail, and SRTC camps for making the camp sites more environmental friendly.
Later, the Commandant accompanied by 2nd in Command, CRPF 137 Bn, D.V. Thomas convened an open Sanik Samelan at SRTC Complex Udhampur.
Among others, Officer 2nd in Command, CRPF 137 Bn, D.V. Thomas, Assistant Commandants, Mrs. R.D. Soureng, Deputy Commandants, Mrs. Neelam Bauntiyal, Mr. Anil Shikawat, Mr Gushran Singh, Dr Bano Partap Singh from 137Bn Udhmapur besides Jawans of CRPF also took part in the plantation drive and Sanik Samlean. |
