Jammu, Aug 11: Congress, the coalition partner, has decided to press for sacking of MoS Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo. The party leadership in a meeting held here has categorically told PCC president Saif-ud-Din Soz that nothing short of Kichloo's dismissal will be acceptable the party. "Kichloo by planning and instigating violence has done the most damage to the party. Kishtwar violence was planned by Kichloo with an eye on polls. Only his dismissal will return the faith of the people in the Cong," said a senior leader. Congress leadership has taken stock of the situation and has apprised Soz that any soft approach on Kichloo will further damage the party. According to party sources, Cong has decided to take up the matter even with the party high command. "Kichloo has polarized the situation and it has helped BJP, which was sure to be wiped out. BJP is also demanding his dismissal and it is striking chord with the people. Congress has to ensure his dismissal to restore confidence of the people in the party," said a Cong leader. According to sources, MLA GM Saroori had told Congress leadership that he had personally asked Kichloo two-days before the incident that he (Kichloo) must ensure adequate force and detain criminal elements in Kishtwar as situation may go worse. "But Kichloo deliberately ignored it," said a source. BJP had already raised the issue of dismissal of Kichloo at national level. National spokesperson of the party had said that Kichloo, whose role has been highlighted in national media, should be dismissed immediately to restore confidence of the people. |
