| District Congress Committee holds meeting | | | early times report Jammu, Sep 3: District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Urban today held meeting to discuss various issues at PCC head quarter, Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu. According to press release, the meeting was presided over by Om Chopra-ex-MLA and attended by Sr. Vice President PCC and former Deputy Chief Minister Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma. The meeting impressed upon block presidents, ward presidents and Workers of the party to fan out in every nook and corner of Jammu urban constituencies to aware masses about programmes and policies of Congress Party. The meeting discussed the memorandum presented to AICC General Secretary Ambika Soni (MP) Incharge J&K on her visit to Jammu, regarding empowerment of Panchayats and Local Bodies through 73rd and 74th Amendment and early holding of elections to the urban local bodies. The meeting also express satisfaction over the valuable guidance of PCC President Prof. Saifuddin Soz (MP) and said that congress party is capable to emerge as a single largest party in the 2014 Assembly elections. All the office bearers unanimously resolved to work unitedly at the grass root level to ensure the victory of congress candidates in next coming elections. The meeting congratulated the Congress leadership at the Centre and in the state for the marvelous performance of the party in the Kargil Hill Council and conveyed their thanks to electorate of Kargil for reposing faith in the Congress party. The meeting was attended by the office bearers of DCC, Block and Ward presidents of Jammu Urban. |
