Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 3: A miss on Part of police administration has given serious dent to the credibility of the gallantry awards given by State police to its officers and men for exemplary performance in duty. Shockingly, SP Sunil Gupta who was put under suspension for his failure to control communal clashes in Kishtwar figured in the list of officers who were awarded with police medals for gallantry. This however was not the first miss by the police administration as earlier also, encounter specialist Sub- Inspector Sonu who was booked in terror incident in district Doda was also nominated for the award leaving Police bosses blushing. As per reports, ADG Housing Dilbagh Singh, ADG Armed SM Sahai, ADG Sheikh Owais and IGP(rtd) Ravinder Kotwal bagged president medal for distinguish services. The meritorious medals go to ASP Mohan Lal Kaith, SP Airport Ashok Kumar, DySP SS Sambyal, DySP Daljeet Singh and Inspector Bhardwaj. DIG Jammu Kathua range Shakeel Ahmed Beigh was one of the police officers who got Police Medal for Gallantry. The investiture ceremony was held in Srinagar where Governor Jammu and Kashmir NN Vohra decorated them with the medals. Shakeel Ahmed Beig -IPS, DIG JK Range has also been awarded Police Medal for Gallantry for displaying conspicuous gallantry, courage and devotion to duty of a high order. The officer is recipient of DGP’s Commendation Medal awarded, Police Medal for Meritorious Services and Sher-e-Kashmir Medal for meritorious services. |
