| SBTE goofup: ITI students get wrong question papers | | Instead of Fitter, papers of Trade Electrician distributed | | MOHD MAJID MALIK DODA , Sept 3: In a bizarre incident, the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of Technical Education distributed question paper of electrician (theory) instead of Fitter to the students appearing in Electrician Trade at ITI Ramban on August 31. Sources informed that the goofup has not only been reported in Ramban, but in 20 centres across Jammu division, where wrong papers were distributed among students. The students and their parents alleged that during the exams being conducted by Jammu and Kashmir State Board of Technical Education on Saturday 31st August, the officials of Industrial Training Institute, Ramban, distributed wrong question papers to the students. The students came out of the examination center and protested against the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of Technical Education and ITI authorities. An official of technical board whishing not to be named, informed that not only in Ramban, but in more than twenty examination centers of Jammu division, wrong question papers were distributed. Superintendent of ITI Ramban, Mudasir Shamas said that chairman local board of examination for national council of vocational training was informed through a written communication about the matter. The students have demanded for re-examination. Reliable sources in the State Board of Technical Education informed that question papers are generally set by the instructors of ITIs but this time paper was set by the lectures of government polytechnic colleges. While talking to ET, secretary Jammu and Kashmir State Board of Technical Education, Nazir Hussain Malik confirmed the mistake and assured that the Board has taken serious note of this mistake and the paper would be held on September 5 throughout the state. |
