| `Kamaal is a mental patient, NC a group of Corrupt' | | Kargil defeat has frustrated NC | | Javaid Naikoo SRINAGAR, Sept 3: The war of words between coalition partners continues even as the Assembly elections are drawing nearer. Terming the defeat to NC in Ladakh Hill Development Council elections a historic win in Kargil district for Congress, senior leaders say that the outstanding decision of people of Ladakh has frustrated the whole camp. "This frustration is the reason behind provocative statements against the Congress and its leadership", said State Secretary, Muhammad Sultan Mandoo. The war of words which started between the two senior members of State Congress and NC in last week took an ugly turn after National Conference senior leader and additional general secretary Dr Shiekh Mustafa Kamaal said that the Congress was hampering urban local body elections. Without naming anybody he said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah would soon expose the names of Congress men responsible for delaying the elections. He said that Congress leaders like Saif-ud-Din Soz, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ambika Soni instead of making tall claims about the performance of State Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir must accept the fact that most of the Ministers of Congress party are every now and then found involved in corrupt practices. He added that Congress being a coalition partner was equally responsible for the present volatile situation in the state. He said that forging an alliance with the Congress was compulsion. "It was the Congress party that approached NC soon after 2008 Assembly Elections and persuaded us to form a coalition Government because Ghulam Nabi Azad had been betrayed by the PDP. But NC suffered heavily by forming Government with the State Congress." Hiting back strongly, Sultan said that Mustafa Kamaal is an abnormal person who has some mental disorders in need of immediate psychiatrist to treatment. He said Congress believes in democracy and wants strong ULD bodies as well. "Congress high command is aware of each and everything now and Chief Minister or any other person does not need to communicate anything to New Delhi about its respected members," he said. He said that choosing independents in recently conducted elections in Kargil instead of NC is a lesson for NC. It is a message to them that Congress can form the Government on its own. Besides people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh divisions since decades know that all the NC Ministers are by one way or other way always found involved in scams and deceiving people in the name of development and prosperity. |
