| Promotion aspirants of Technical Education in jeopardy | | Ex Director returns file without signatures | | Mustansir srinagar, Sept 3: Subjecting scores of poor employees to humiliation, the then Director Technical Education, has returned the file of DPC months after he was transferred without signing the minutes of the DPC meeting held in February. Reliable sources told Early Times on Tuesday that ex-Director Technical education conducted meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) as early as in February in which nod was given to the promotion of about 40 officials of different categories. They said the Director SC Sahni after his superannuation was appointed as Director SSA but he never returned the file back to the technical education department. It was only after the news-report that appeared in this newspaper on August 13 that Sahni returned the file to the technical Education Department but did not sign the minutes of the meeting. Sources said that when the file was sent back to him for his signatures in the back date the other day, he returned the same without signing it. A senior official of the department told Early Times that the file was recovered but the ex-director has not signed the minutes thereby the promotion of around 40 official of the department is hanging in balance for no fault of theirs. Holding Sahni, who was given extension after his retirement in March and placed as Director SSA, directly responsible for this casual approach, the official said that first he should not have convened the meeting just few days before his retirement and even if he convened the same he should have signed the minutes of the meeting paving way for issuance of formal orders in favour of the aspiring officials. |
