| Poswal files petition before National Commission of Scheduled Tribe | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 3: President Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha Jammu and Kashmir Ishfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal has requested the National Commission of Scheduled Tribe for adaptation of Maharashtra modal in utilizing the TSP (Tribal Sub Plan) funds of J&K state. A petition was submitted before the Chairman National Commission of Schedule Tribe by Poswal here today. He discussed and requested the Commission regarding the expeditious disposal of petition pertaining to Scheduled Tribe (Gujjar Bakarwal) of J&K State.) The petition envisaged granting of representation of Scheduled Tribe (Gujjar Bakarwal) in Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council, Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha in accordance with the representation already granted to Schedule Caste of J&K State, expeditious establishment of full-fledged Directorate of Tribal Affairs J&K and creation of Ministry of Tribal Affairs J&K state. Besides Poswal submitted before the Chairman National Commission for Schedule Tribe Dr. Rameshwar Oram that the pending petitions on various issues of the community are still pending with the state Government which needs a reminder from the Commission. The Chairman assured him that the genuine demands under the previous petitions were already discussed with Sonia Gandhi Chairperson UPA in view of overall upliftment of the Gujjar Bakarwal community and added that in case government's response lag behind the matter the Commission shall take firm measures accordingly. |
