Srinagar, Sept 3 : The State Information Commission (SIC) has issued a show cause notice for penalty under the provisions of J&K RTI Act 2009 against the Public Information Officer (PIO) Directorate of Indian System of Medicine Srinagar. As per the details available the information seeker Advocate Shahnawaz Ahmad Raina C/O district court Shopian attended in person the hearing at SIC . The PIO as well as other officers of the I.S.M Department were also present . According to the order passed by Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) G R Sufi passed on August 23, "Dr. R.K.Raina, PIO is directed to explain why penalty proceedings may not be initiated for not passing order in time i.e within 30 days from the receipt of RTI. The penalty has to be reckoned from the date of passing order under section 7 till the date the actual date of furnishing information. |
