Rajouri, Sept 3: General Officer Commanding (GOC) 25 infantry Division Major General VP Singh today has categorically denied any infiltration bid on Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri on August 29. Rejecting the news appeared in ceratin media section, claiming successful infiltration bid by a group of militants in Keri sector in Tarkundi of Rajouri on 29 August, he said, "Security forces have launched massive search operations in several villages to restore a faith and sense of security among them as there were 'mongering' in air about movement of militants 'possibly had infiltrated from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Keri sector of Rajouri'. Talking to reporters at the sidelines of Army Public School function at Rajouri, Maj Gen VP Singh briefly said, "We have thoroughly investigated the said case while strict vigil is maintained by the alert troops and no fence was damaged or cut-off as appeared in certain media section"."Search operation was launched by army and police but no militant was traced adding that no fence was damaged or cut-off as our Jawans are very vigilant all along the line of control, he added. "It's an old strategy of Pakistan to violate ceasefire to cover infiltration attempts and to push armed ultras in our side, but they failed to do so as alert troops have foiled many such bids along LoC in border districts this year" he added. |
