Jammu, Sept3: With deep and wide trenches that appeared on the city arteries during monsoon threatening lives of people, the PWD authorities have turned a blind eye to the plight of the people and so has the minister for R&B who has been too busy of late in shuttling between his home town Doda and summer capital Srinagar. The busiest road in Jammu, BC road is the worst affected in the city which has developed scores of potholes and at few places these holes are so deep that there is risk to lives of commuters. Apart from this, interior roads have also suffered huge damage but the PWD is not showing concern. "We are facing huge problems while moving on roads in Jammu city. Our vehicles get damaged and there is risk of accident as most roads are unlit or poorly lit," said Abhishek Gupta, a resident of Rehari area of Jammu. He said that first the ERA department dug roads and then monsoon brought misery for people. "We don't know when government will act in favour of people. At present it looks as if there is no government and no administration," Gupta added. |
