Rajouri, Sept 3: Police recovered a body of 17 years old girl allegedly having four month pregnancy under suspicious circumstances in a forest today near her house in village Channi Bagla area falling under the jurisdiction of Rajouri Police Station.
A case stands registered and police have started investigating the case. According to Mohd Ishaq uncle of the deceased, the girl identified as Shabnam Koushar was a student of stitching and tailoring class at Thandikassi and went missing after attending classes on Monday. "Police also recovered a bottle of poisonous substances near her body and was found in a sitting position in a dense forest found by a shepherd today, police said. Reports also said during autopsy of body doctors also found some marks of strangulation on the neck of the body. "The body was found in suspicious circumstances, said SHO , Varinder Gupta, adding, "body was handed over to family members after legal formalities and postmortem." He said a case under 174 CrPC stands registered in this matter and police have started investigating the matter.
However when asked about the pregnancy, SHO said that he right now can't comment in this regard as the autopsy reports are awaited. |
