| Police reach out to youth for peace, communal harmony | | | early times report KISHTWAR, Sept 3: In a bid to restore lasting peace and communal harmony in violence hit Kishtwar District, the police today held a meeting with youth of majority community at DC office Kishtwar and seek their help in maintaining tranquility. As per the details, the meeting was chaired by DIG DKR Ashkoor Wani, beside SP Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal and other senior officials of police were also present. The senior police officers while addressing youth urged them not to fall prey of decisive forces who want to divide the people on the name of religion, caste, colour and creed. Police officers also urged the youth to dedicate themselves towards education and play its part in building the nation. The officers said that youth are the easy target of anti national and social elements present in any society, who are hell bent to destabilize the peace and tranquility. After engaging the youths of majority community in talks, police is planning to held similar meeting with the youth of minority community so that the platform for joint meeting of the youth from both community could be set as both police and civil administration since the communal violence breakout in Kishtwar on August 9 has failed to end the deadlock between the representatives of both the communities. Police and administration of Kishtwar are hopeful that youth of both the community will come face to face to end the logjam between the two communities. |
