| Taj tries to give clean chit to killers: LJP | | Govt treats Shopian people as cattle | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Sept 18: National Youth President, Lok Janshakti Party, Sanjay Saraf today said Congress Minister Taj Mohi-u-Din has given a clean chit to the Shopian killers before the completion of the probe into the incident.
"At least the statement made by Director General of Police, Ashok Prasad is commendable as he said that he is in touch with his Bihar counterpart to ascertain the identity of one of the youth killed in Shopian in CRPF firing. Before the completion of the probe, Taj has claimed that he was a militant which makes no sense of the probe," Saraf told reporters at a press conference in Srinagar.
Castigating State Government for caging people of Shopian at gun point, Saraf said differences in Coalition Government has become headache for the people. "Some Ministers oppose the continuous imposition of curfew while the others force the administration to restrict the movement of the people," he said, adding that continuous curfew has marred the fruit industry in Shopian.
He demanded that killers involved in the cold murder should be punished severely. "If CRPF men are involved in the gruesome killings, punish them without any delay," Saraf said.
He appealed Opposition and other independent members to bring a resolution on Shopian killings in the Assembly so that matter could be fairly investigated and culprits are punished," he said. |
