Kathua, Sept 18: Activists of Jan-Jagriti-Manch (JJM) today staged protest demonstration against the illegal detention and harassment of activists of Progressive Students Association. The protesters also burnt the effigy of those who are hatching the conspiracies against PSA activists only to strengthen their baseless and divisive politics among the innocent students of university.
The protest was joined by the hundreds of JJM activists amid shouting of slogans, demanding immediate release of activists. They also demanded an investigation of fair manner to bring the real face of the miscreants before the entire student community who played a planned and determined role to snub the demands of opening of Gojari Research Centre in Jammu University and caused the harassment to PSA activists.
"It is well known to entire student community as well as general masses of the state that PSA is an organization which has been working among the students for the welfare of students and also succeeded a dynamic and most famous and admirable organization of students since long. And this only the organization in Jammu and Kashmir which is the major critics of all baseless, outdated and exploitative mindset of the divisive politics and it encourages the ideology of humanity and equality by sidelining the unproductive and unscientific approaches like castes, religions and any others regionalism", they said.
They further said, "To put ban on such organizations is not relevant and justified step of the Jammu University for which JJM condemned the oppressive and undemocratic approaches of Jammu University.
In the protest Sanjay, Kulbir, Rajesh, Vicky Sahil, Pankaj Madhan, Suraj, Pawan, Ramneek, Madhu, Vaishali, Shalini, Kanta, Udhay, Rashi, Koshal, and others were present.
