| Police arrest Principal, Secretary of 'Rotary Inner Wheel Home' for hiding facts | | Rotary Home Sexual abuse case | | early times report
Jammu, Sept 18: In a latest development in the sexual abuse of mentally challenged girls at 'Rotary Inner Wheel Home for Mentally challenged at Channi Rama' which rocked the city on September 8/9, the Police today arrested the Principal and Secretary of above mentioned home for allegedly hiding facts and misleading investigation of police.
The duo arrested here today have been identified namely as Secretary Rajinder Kapoor and Principal G L Koul.
For inept, the Director of this shelter for mentally challenged children and a guard have been arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting five girl inmates of the home on September 9. Soon after the incident, police swung into action and started investigation in the reports after District Commissioner, Jammu, AK Sahu constituted a Board to investigate the matter and also sought police action.
The Board was represented by Deputy Commissioner, Additional DC, SP, and doctors, including gynaecologists and psychiatrist. According to officials sources the report (of the Board) came out with revelations that five mentally challenged girls were sexually exploited.
"Out of 17 girls, five were found to be allegedly raped regularly following which two persons one was the director of the Home and second was Chowkidar," sources added.
They said that the police was deployed in strengthen around the Home while the probe report has been submitted before the administration for action, while Trikuta Nagar police have registered a rape case under 376 of RPC and further investigation is on and today police held two more persons in the said case. |
