| DC issues list of victims, seeks objections | | Kishtwar violence | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, Sept 18: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Baseer Ahmed Khan has made the list of the victims of August 9violence public vide order No: 524-29/SDK/R dated 16-09-2013. The victims include the dead, injured and those who lost their movable or immovable property. The list prepared by Revenue, PWD and the Police department has 217 victims. The order urges the people to submit their objections within 15 days to the Additional District Commissioner. Officials of the District administration informed the "Early Times" that once the process of seeking an objection with regard to the list framed by the administration gets completed, in accordance with the law, the distribution of compensation shall start. Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team probing August 9 violence has reportedly decided to send some weapons recovered by them out of looted weapons from an armory shop for FSL test. As per the sources, the SIT wants to know whether the recovered weapons were used during the riots. The SIT also reportedly seized the weapons of some policemen as well and the same were sent to FSL laboratory for testing. |
